Why Do We Wear Pink Today?

The history of Pink Day

We wear pink on February 25th because in 2007 a grade nine boy a pink shirt to school and he was bullied for that. Two boys David Shepherd, Travis Price, and their friends decided to stand up for the grade nine boy and wear a pink shirt. The two boys who argued against the bullying that the people did to him handed out pink shirts to every boy in the school.

Awareness ----------------------------------> Action

Awareness- Being aware of what is happening
Action- Doing something about it

Although someone could be aware of what is happening they don't do something about it.

The Bully, Bullied, Bystander.

The bully's or bully is the one who is trying to intimidate someone.
The bullied the victim or victims
The bystander the people who are watching and most likely wont do anything.

You will most likely be one of these three people. Lots of  people will end up being bystanders and watch this happen, but they actually have to do some thing about it. It shouldn't matter if the victim is your friend, a peer ,a stranger or someone you might dislike you need to help them. And sometimes people will break. If this is happening to you, please tell someone. If you are doing this why? has this person done something to you? Or do you think that it is cool that everyone is doing this and you have to.

Bully's have no power over you.
Bullied you have power and sometimes someone has to help you find that power
Bystanders you need to help.

.

This is an example of the three characters in bullying.

Silence is assent.
When you are silent you are showing permission to let the bully, bully you or bully someone else.

To This Day
To This Day is a great representation of someone being bullied, and what goes on in their head.
This video is very emotional and i suggest watching it because it will move you.
